Shopping in Guardamar

Shopping in Guardamar

What a vacation without shopping? This is a whole event – to stroll slowly among the bright windows, have a good time, get acquainted with new brands and choose interesting souvenirs.

Although Guardamar del Segura is a small town, this does not mean that shopping there should be ordinary. In the city center, near the city hall, you will find excellent clothing stores. They feature both Spanish and Italian brands. Look for interesting evening dresses and menswear in the D’Dos store. And when it comes to food, the city has large supermarkets Masymas, Mercadona, where you can find an extensive selection of cheeses, meats, wines and other truly Spanish delicacies. Fresh vegetables and fruits can be bought at the market during the summer, and at the Sunday market in Campo Guardamar you can find old and rare items. You will not find such things in shopping centers, and their quality and price will please you very much.

Well, there are a lot of small cute souvenirs in tourist shops. There you will find cute Spanish national dresses, fans, hand-painted plates and much more.

Where to go with children in Guardamar del Segura?

Where to go with children in Guardamar del Segura?

Guardamar del Segura is a great choice if you are looking for a resort for families with children. The mild climate, calm sea, golden sand and fresh fruits – for children and their parents this is a great opportunity to relax from the bustle of the metropolis, strengthen immunity and gain strength.

The city will appeal to both beach lovers and curious athletes. Children will be able to observe rare birds at the mouth of the Segura River, ride a bicycle along the equipped paths, try an orange directly from a tree and learn to swim with flippers. Slow walks can be made in the parks of the Rhine Sofia and Alfonso XIII, where many birds and animals live. Some even willingly make contact and pose for a photo. Very close, across the road there is a park of bright children’s attractions and colorful souvenir shops with intricate toys. The ruins of the Phoenician port and Guardamar Castle will help you to plunge into the historical atmosphere. A plus is the proximity to Alicante, Cartagena, Murcia, Elche – these are interesting cities with a rich history, in which it is better to go on an excursion for the whole day.

Separately, it should be said about the beaches, which in Guardamar stretched as much as 15 kilometers. They are absolutely beautiful! Among them are wild, with high sand dunes, and urban, equipped with all amenities. Here you can rent a sunbed under an awning, and in the beach bar you can have a snack and a refreshing cocktail. Many are marked with the Blue Flag, which guarantees their impeccable cleanliness, compliance with environmental standards and an increased level of comfort.

Undoubtedly, Guardamar del Segura deserves to be visited, to see all the beauty with your own eyes, to be nourished by the energy of the sun and to bring home extremely good impressions!

Park Alfonso XIII

Park Alfonso XIII

One of the main attractions of Guardamar del Segura is a large park named after the King of Spain Alfonso XIII. It stretched along the sea and was built at the end of the 19th century in order to stop the advance of sand dunes on the city. The size is amazing – as much as 800 hectares. An ecologically clean natural zone is located within the city and connects the center with the marina. The protected area is filled with coniferous trees, palm trees, eucalyptus trees and cypresses. There are many wild paths in the park that will lead you to the most remote corners, but there are also equipped paths along which you can safely walk with children and ride a bicycle. Spicy coniferous aroma is an excellent therapy for people who regularly breathe the air of megacities.

From the marina side, the park goes to the mouth of the Segura River, where you can enjoy incredible sea views. And also – to observe the nesting of rare birds, there for these purposes a special observation post has been equipped. If you want to spend the day in seclusion and peace, then in Alfonso XIII park for this pastime is just the perfect place!

Spanish cuisine

Spanish cuisine

Spanish cuisine is not just food, it is a tourist attraction. Seafood, olives, Jamon and wine alone are worth it to come to Spain. But in fact, this is only a small part of all the delicacies. Food in Spain is loved and respected, so you should visit different parts of the country and enjoy the diversity of taste.

The most popular and light dish is Tortilla. A scrambled eggs with potatoes and, possibly, with the addition of other vegetables. It’s hard to find a place where you wouldn’t be served tortillas. The same goes for Toastado for breakfast – toasted bread with olive oil, with grated fresh tomato, with Jamon or cheese. In summer, Gazpacho is especially good – cold tomato soup. And of course, do not forget about Paella, the queen of Spanish cuisine. It is cooked in a special wide pan and consists of rice, sauce and any meat or seafood as desired. All this splendor goes well with Spanish wines, which are also considered the pride of the country. And for dessert – Churros, fried strips of dough, sprinkled with hot chocolate with excellent Spanish coffee!

The beauty of Spanish food is that it is easy to cook at home. Everything you need can be found in local markets, in shops and in retail stores. The Spaniards are proud of their cuisine and will gladly recommend only the freshest products. Of course, you know that our apartments have fully equipped kitchens, so you can easily prepare something interesting and very Spanish! A delicious morning breakfast with stunning views will create an excellent mood for the whole day. And the combination of local color and home comfort will make your stay unforgettable and very comfortable!

Costa Blanca is recognized as the healthiest region to live

Costa Blanca is recognized as the healthiest region to live

Did you know the Costa Blanca has been recognized as the healthiest region to live by the World Health Organization (WHO)!

The Costa Blanca is especially a pleasant area for people with respiratory problems, asthma, skin problems such as with open sores, psoriasis and allergies. People with rheumatism or other muscle or joint problems tend to feel much better in this microclimate.

With more than 300 days of a year of sunshine, you can enjoy agreeable temperatures the whole year through. The annual average temperature is 18º, which means that in the summer the temperature isn´t extremely high, and the temperature in the winter will be relatively warm.

These temperatures come because of the microclimate in the area. The Costa Blanca is cloaked by the warm Mediterranean Sea to the east and mountains just a few kilometers inland to the west. Both are string forces in keeping the good weather in and the bad weather out!

Starting May 11, the resumption of certain types of activities is allowed, namely the opening of small shops and enterprises. Restaurants and bars will be able to receive guests at summer venues, and residents will be allowed to meet each other and have fun while observing the distance. Families can travel by car within their province. And hotels and apartments will open. With the strictest safety rules, of course.
