An asphalt road leads here, you can get there by car, but there is no equipped parking, and places on the sides are very limited. Extreme entertainment in Benidorm

Extreme entertainment in Benidorm

If you are ready for an adrenaline and serotonin rush, we advise you to admire Benidorm and its surroundings from a rather unusual side – from the height of a seagull!

Parasailing is flying over the sea with a parachute attached to a boat. The feeling of freedom and incredible aesthetic pleasure is guaranteed to absolutely everyone. It’s safe and very, very fun.
Paragliding – flying on a glider – is a slightly more extreme option, but no less exciting. Unlike a parachute, the glider can be steered, even upward if you want to. Complete beginners can try a pair flight with an instructor.

Such entertainment can be found at tourist offices or on your own on the Internet. Some of the most popular companies are Summer Paragliding and Outbound Adventures, they have their own pricing sites and many positive reviews on TripAdvisor. The price of such an amazing experience is from 90/100 euros, it all depends on the flight time and individual nuances.

Poniente Beach

Poniente Beach

Poniente Beach is one of the most spacious in Benidorm, its length is 3 kilometers, but unlike its neighbor, Levante Beach, it is calmer and quieter, well suited for a measured family vacation. The part closest to Kala Hill is considered to be especially calm; it is located far from the center and the noisy promenade. The eastern part is the busiest, because the Old City is three steps away. The good thing for children is that the entrance to the water is shallow, the depth does not start immediately, and this is a great place to learn to swim. The beach infrastructure is fully equipped, there is a medical center and rescue towers. And the entertainment is provided by beach volleyball courts, cable parks for children, mattress and sports equipment rental centers.

There is no natural shade on the beach, only umbrellas provide it, which you can rent for 4.5 euros per day, there you will also find sun loungers. Interesting fact: the promenade adjacent to the Poniente beach is on the 4th place among the most beautiful in the world!

Terra Mitika

Terra Mitika

Terra Mitika is not a simple amusement park, but a whole historical and cultural entertainment center for children and adults. On an area of more than 100 hectares, you will plunge into ancient history, get a lot of new experiences and have fun from the heart, having received a dose of adrenaline in the rides. Here are the largest roller coasters in Europe! The ancient world is represented by five zones: Rome, Greece, Egypt, Iberia and the Mediterranean islands. You will be entertained by an incredible number of actors, acrobats, live sculptures, which, coupled with incredible scenery, sound and lighting effects, will allow you to feel the atmosphere of a fabulous celebration and magic for the whole day.

The price for children and seniors is € 29.50, and for adults is € 35. There is also the option of buying a family ticket or even an annual subscription. But prices may vary depending on the season, so carefully check the information on the official website. Free parking is available if you decide to arrive by car. From the A7 motorway, take the direct exit to Park № 65A.

This is one of those places that is definitely worth a visit!

Levante Beach

Levante Beach

The longest and busiest beach in Benidorm is located right in the center of the city opposite the small island of Isla de la Olya. In summer, the beach attracts a large number of tourists, this is an ideal place not only for a beach holiday, but also for active marine sports such as surfing, diving, kayaking. All equipment is rented on the spot. Interesting attractions work for children on the beach, including an inflatable island in the water. You can rent catamarans, yachts, for them on the beach there is a specially fenced area, where it is forbidden to swim swimmers. Naturally, the beach is equipped with changing cabins, showers and toilets. And for 7 euros you can take a deck chair with an umbrella.

Along the beach stretches the promenade with many restaurants, cafes, shops and souvenir shops. In the evenings, clubs and pubs open where you can watch music shows or just dance.

No wonder Levante beach is one of the favorite places for tourists and residents of the city, because really there is literally everything for a wonderful holiday. And since 2003 it has been marked with the Blue Flag, which is proof of its cleanliness, safety and a high level of comfort.

Sierra Helada

Sierra Helada

The Sierra Helada mountain range is located between Benidorm, Albir, Altea and since 2005 it has been recognized as a national park. The mountain coast, part of the sea and the three islands includes Sierra Helada. The main attraction of the park is the lighthouse of Albir, which is also an information center where hiking routes of varying complexity converge. Before going on the trail, carefully study the map and take a supply of water with you.

Here you can not only walk, but also swim. Near the rocks under water, divers enjoy a wonderful view of the marine flora and fauna, where you can meet moray eels, octopuses and many bright fish. Sometimes even dolphins swim in these waters. And from the port of Altea and Benidorm there are pleasure boats with a transparent bottom, where you can enjoy the underwater life without diving. The fauna is no less interesting above water – on the rocks gulls, peregrine falcons, and predatory swifts nest and hunt.

The opening hours of the park depend on the season and the day of the week, for example, in the summer it is open from 9:00 to 13:00 from Monday to Friday, but you can come there in the evening only from Wednesday to Saturday. All details are available on the official website, detailed descriptions and maps of walking routes are also located there. It’s easy to find the park, the N-332 highway leads there, and the signs will not let you get lost. Near the entrance to the park there is a free convenient parking.

Mal Pas Beach

Mal Pas Beach

Mal Pas Beach is located in the heart of the city. And although it is only 120 meters in length, it is rightly called the most beautiful beach of Benidorm. Despite the fact that it is located in the very center, the beach is surrounded by rocky ledges and palm trees, hiding it from the bustling crowd. And immediately on the left side behind the rocks begins the Old Town. From there they get to the beach, stone steps lead from the city to the sea.

The beach is cleaned daily, sand is evened and the surf strip is cleaned, and of course, there is all the infrastructure necessary for tourists – changing rooms, toilets and showers. Strong waves do not reach there, which makes it ideal for families with children. There is a rental point for catamarans, umbrellas and deck chairs, although the sand is fine and soft. The cost of a chaise lounge and an umbrella in a set is 9 euros.

A lively promenade with cafes, bars, restaurants and souvenir shops begins a three-minute walk from the beach. Here you can spend a wonderful day from morning to late evening.

Spanish cuisine

Spanish cuisine

Spanish cuisine is not just food, it is a tourist attraction. Seafood, olives, Jamon and wine alone are worth it to come to Spain. But in fact, this is only a small part of all the delicacies. Food in Spain is loved and respected, so you should visit different parts of the country and enjoy the diversity of taste.

The most popular and light dish is Tortilla. A scrambled eggs with potatoes and, possibly, with the addition of other vegetables. It’s hard to find a place where you wouldn’t be served tortillas. The same goes for Toastado for breakfast – toasted bread with olive oil, with grated fresh tomato, with Jamon or cheese. In summer, Gazpacho is especially good – cold tomato soup. And of course, do not forget about Paella, the queen of Spanish cuisine. It is cooked in a special wide pan and consists of rice, sauce and any meat or seafood as desired. All this splendor goes well with Spanish wines, which are also considered the pride of the country. And for dessert – Churros, fried strips of dough, sprinkled with hot chocolate with excellent Spanish coffee!

The beauty of Spanish food is that it is easy to cook at home. Everything you need can be found in local markets, in shops and in retail stores. The Spaniards are proud of their cuisine and will gladly recommend only the freshest products. Of course, you know that our apartments have fully equipped kitchens, so you can easily prepare something interesting and very Spanish! A delicious morning breakfast with stunning views will create an excellent mood for the whole day. And the combination of local color and home comfort will make your stay unforgettable and very comfortable!

Costa Blanca is recognized as the healthiest region to live

Costa Blanca is recognized as the healthiest region to live

Did you know the Costa Blanca has been recognized as the healthiest region to live by the World Health Organization (WHO)!

The Costa Blanca is especially a pleasant area for people with respiratory problems, asthma, skin problems such as with open sores, psoriasis and allergies. People with rheumatism or other muscle or joint problems tend to feel much better in this microclimate.

With more than 300 days of a year of sunshine, you can enjoy agreeable temperatures the whole year through. The annual average temperature is 18º, which means that in the summer the temperature isn´t extremely high, and the temperature in the winter will be relatively warm.

These temperatures come because of the microclimate in the area. The Costa Blanca is cloaked by the warm Mediterranean Sea to the east and mountains just a few kilometers inland to the west. Both are string forces in keeping the good weather in and the bad weather out!

What to do in Benidorm?

What to do in Benidorm?

Tossal de la Cala is an Iberian settlement from the III-I centuries BC. where there is an archaeological site declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

It is a hill located between Cala Finestrat and Benidorm Bay, where we can enjoy a short excursion with family, partner or friends. As an interesting fact, recent archaeological investigations affirm that in Tossal de la Cala there is a Roman wall with more than 2,000 years old that acted as protection for the area and whose peak reaches 100 meters in height.

How to access Tossal de la Cala from GBH Caballito de Mar

You can access the area from the end of Playa de Poniente, a beach located less than 3 minutes from GBH Caballito de Mar apartments. Once at the end of the beach you only have to climb a hill along Calle de la Ermita. In the final part of the Tossal we find a Ermita y un Mirador The latter has beautiful views over the sea, from where you can enjoy the Benidorm coast, the Finestrat coast, and the Villajoyosa coast.

Without a doubt, is an almost obligatory place to visit. From GBH we recommend you first see the areas where you can park, parking there is usually difficult.

Where to park in Benidorm?

Benidorm offers us several alternatives when it comes to parking. We have underground paid parking and two free public parkings which, although they are quite far from the beach, have quite a lot of parking places.

From GBH we recommend that you take a look at it. Here we leave you the link to the main car parkings, both public and paid

The Mirador de la Cruz is located 217 meters above sea level, it is undoubtedly one of the most magical and charming places in the city of Alicante.

It is located at the top of the Serra Gelada Natural Park (Sierra Helada). Here the famous Cruz de Benidorm presides, with spectacular panoramic views of the city, the coast and the mountains, without a doubt will not leave you indifferent.

How to access the Mirador de La Cruz from GBH Caballito de Mar

The route begins at the end of the Levante beach by accessing the Rincón de Loix. Levante beach is located less than 3 minutes from our GBH Caballito de Mar apartments. The tour can be done by car or by foot, either as a couple or with friends.

At the top, you can find several routes and trails that line the extraordinary cliffs, without a doubt we recommend the route that leads to the Albir Lighthouse, the sunset with the sea bathed in sun is a spectacle that you cannot miss.
