The longest and busiest beach in Benidorm is located right in the center of the city opposite the small island of Isla de la Olya. The Sierra Helada mountain range is located between Benidorm, Albir, Altea and since 2005 it has been recognized as a national park. The mountain coast, part of the sea and the three islands includes Sierra Helada. The main attraction of the park is the lighthouse of Albir, which is also an information center where hiking routes of varying complexity converge. Before going on the trail, carefully study the map and take a supply of water with you.

Here you can not only walk, but also swim. Near the rocks under water, divers enjoy a wonderful view of the marine flora and fauna, where you can meet moray eels, octopuses and many bright fish. Sometimes even dolphins swim in these waters. And from the port of Altea and Benidorm there are pleasure boats with a transparent bottom, where you can enjoy the underwater life without diving. The opening hours of the park depend on the season and the day of the week, for example, in the summer it is open from 9:00 to 13:00 from Monday to Friday, but you can come there in the evening only from Wednesday to Saturday. It’s easy to find the park, the N-332 highway leads there, and the signs will not let you get lost. Near the entrance to the park there is a free convenient parking.

Mal Pas Beach is located in the heart of the city. And although it is only 120 meters in length, it is rightly called the most beautiful beach of Benidorm. Despite the fact that it is located in the very center, the beach is surrounded by rocky ledges and palm trees, hiding it from the bustling crowd. And immediately on the left side behind the rocks begins the Old Town. From there they get to the beach, stone steps lead from the city to the sea.

The beach is cleaned daily, sand is evened and the surf strip is cleaned, and of course, there is all the infrastructure necessary for tourists – changing rooms, toilets and showers. Strong waves do not reach there, which makes it ideal for families with children. There is a rental point for catamarans, umbrellas and deck chairs, although the sand is fine and soft. The cost of a chaise lounge and an umbrella in a set is 9 euros.

A lively promenade with cafes, bars, restaurants and souvenir shops begins a three-minute walk from the beach. Here you can spend a wonderful day from morning to late evening.

Tossal de la Cala is an Iberian settlement from the III-I centuries BC. where there is an archaeological site declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

It is a hill located between Cala Finestrat and Benidorm Bay, where we can enjoy a short excursion with family, partner or friends. As an interesting fact, recent archaeological investigations affirm that in Tossal de la Cala there is a Roman wall with more than 2,000 years old that acted as protection for the area and whose peak reaches 100 meters in height.

How to access Tossal de la Cala from GBH Caballito de Mar

You can access the area from the end of Playa de Poniente, a beach located less than 3 minutes from GBH Caballito de Mar apartments. Once at the end of the beach you only have to climb a hill along Calle de la Ermita.
